I just arrived in Tromso, Norway. Any sailors around this end of the world? Also, I’m doing a bareboat charter end of July for 2 weeks. 17th to the 1st. I’m day skipper but need another experienced skipper for at least 2-3 days to satisfy the rental requirements. ICC with time in a 48ft vessel. Anyone keen to help out?

Interested in how strategies and experiences from maritime life can inform the development of resilient urban communities? Our amazing Luca Tausel has been (silently) doing great work and research on this topic.

Anyone gonna be in Ireland for the Easter break? I will be there from 12th-20th April and looking forward to meeting up and hopefully getting to sail with other ocean nomads in the area.

Last weekend I did a RYA Sea Survival course. A recap & my biggest realization.

Member Spotlight: Blair

Besides shining the Ocean Nomads values as skipper, Blair is also rebuilding a vessel! (& farming seaweed). On the network he shares about his project rebuilding Ceol Mo , a 44’ steel yawl built in New Zealand in 1988 by Sydney to Hobart winning designer, Ken Slater. "She is a 19tonne high altitude cruiser built on a 1980s racing full keel hull. I bought her last year in southern Tasmania and am rebuilding her over the next two years.
I have so far installed all new standing and running rigging and stripped and repainted both masts.
Redoing all the wood work top side and refreshing sail bags, new bimini, spray dodger etc. The real big job is her electrics.

I’m a sailor and ocean lover. Enjoy to dive, surf, do yoga and currently living to my utmost vagabond. I’m outfitting my own yawl and running a sea weed farm.

Hey Reader, When I first set out to find an adventure, I knew I wanted more than just a vacation. I was craving something new, an experience in a different country, the thrill of sailing but with an experienced captain and crew who could keep me safe while I learned, and, most of all, the chance to connect with like-minded people. I found all of that and more on my first Ocean Nomads trip. I still remember my first night aboard the boat, anchored below the cliffs of Madeira. It felt surreal....
